"I Want A God-fearing Man, Not Necessarily A Bachelor." _ Karen Igho
wooed by the opposite sex. Men are supposed
to woo me. I'm a woman and I'm very soft. They shouldn't be scared of asking me out. I want a decent man, and not any kind of man," she said.
Karen expressed disappointment that men are
not bracing up the courage to woo her, despite
the fact that she is not as difficult as they think.
She says she is still "single and ready to
mingle". She also said her dream man must not only be God-fearing and comfortable but also down to earth and not necessarily a bachelor.

Female Undergraduate Strippéd Naked For Stealing BlackBerry In Night Club (Photo)
According to an eye witness account, Chisom had removed the phone from the bag of another fun seeker in the club, but luck ran out of her as she made frantic effort to switch it off.
It was gathered that the owner of the phone put a call through her line using the phone of another friend after searching for hers, and heard it ringing inside Chisom's bag.
The people in the club wasted no time to descend on the suspect , beating her black and blue before strípping her skímpy clothe off her.
According to our source, It took the efforts of the guard at the night club to save Chisom from being lynched to death, as she was taken into one of the rooms in the club to change her clothes.
Although it could not be ascertained as the time of this report if she was handed over to the police for further investigation as all efforts to reach the divisional police officer in that area proved abortive.

Bestwood Chukwuemeka, Nollyood Actor Sentenced To 3 Months In Jail For Gayism
The actor said he had sex with another man under the influence of alcohol. A 28-year old actor, Bestwood Chukwuemeka, was sentenced to three-month imprisonment by a Karu Senior Magistrates' Court, Abuja, for having sexual intercourse with another man through the anus.
The convict, who resides at Gidan Mangoro, had pleaded guilty to having engaged in homosexual acts.
"I am guilty of the charge against me. I was under the influence of alcohol and I want the court to temper justice with mercy'', he said.
The police prosecutor, Mohammed Umar, had told the court that the convict committed the offence in August when the complainant was sleeping in his bed.
Homosexual acts, the prosecutor said, was contrary to Section 284 of the Penal Code.
The prosecutor said since Mr. Chukwuemeka had pleaded guilty to the crime he initially denied, the court should try him summarily.
The Senior Magistrate, Nafisatu Buba, sentenced him to three-month imprisonment without an option of fine.
"This would serve as warning to other youths who hide under the influence of alcohol to commit crimes,'' she said.
When he was first arraigned in early September, Mr. Chukwuemeka pleaded not guilty, saying,
"I came back drunk from the night club and thought I was sleeping on the same bed with my girl-friend and I started romancing her."
At that hearing, Mrs Buba, had ruled that alcohol should not be seen as an excuse for committing the offence, but then granted the accused bail in the sum of N200,000 with two sureties in like sum, with one of the sureties being a civil servant on Grade Level 09.
However, when the case was heard Monday, the actor suddenly pleaded guilty, and Mrs Buba summarily tried him, sentencing him to three-month imprisonment. Homosexuality and lesbianism are seriously frowned at in Nigeria.
In November, the Nigerian Senate passed a strict law banning same-sex marriage and public display of affection by gays in Nigeria. The bill – Same Sex Marriage (prohibition) bill 2011 – prescribes 14-year jail terms for convicted gays in Nigeria.
"Persons who entered into a same sex marriage contract or civil union commits an offence and are each liable on conviction to a term of 14 years imprisonment," the new law said.
It added, "Any person, who registers, operates or participates in gay clubs, societies and organization, or directly or indirectly makes public show of same- sex amorous relationships in Nigeria commits an offence and shall be liable on conviction to a term of 10-year imprisonment."

Bishops 'Severely Outraged ' With Image Of Neymar As Jesus Christ
Placar , which has become one of the most successful sports publications in Brazil since its inception in 1970, was using the picture as a metaphor to highlight the criticism the star had been coming under for supposedly diving too often.
In a letter, signed by CNBB president Cardinal Raymundo Damasceno Assis and general secretary Dom Leonardo Ulrich Steiner and posted on the organization's website, the publicationcame under fire for "showing disdain towards people's feelings."
"The Brazilian National Bishops Confederation states that it feels severely outraged with the [photo] montage that is is the cover of a sports magazine, where the image of Jesus Christ is seen with the face of a football player," read the statement. "We acknowledge freedom of speech as a fundamental principle of our state and [see it as necessary for] democratic co-existence, however, there are known limits for such.
"To ridiculize faith and show disdain towards peoples' religious feelings by using the disrespectful use of the image of Jesus suggests manipulation and use of editorial resources as a meansfor commercial ends. The magazine has shown itself as being insensitive to the recent context of deplorable violence caused by the inadequate use of religious images and, with that, has made a bad contribution towards a consolidation of respectful co-existence between different beliefs.
"This [photo] montage uses the image of Jesus in an explicit manner, even if the magazine director denied this evident fact. This is a clear lack of respect that offends the most sacred imagefor Christians and updates, in a hazardous manner, the well-known resource of gaining attention by provocation."
An online petition has now been launched against Placar 's use ofthe image of Neymar as Jesus Christ, which has gained over 7,000 signatures since its manifestation.

Van Persie: "Man Utd Are Perfect For Me"
The former Arsenal man announced that he would not be extending his contract with the Gunners in July, and following a battle for his signature with fierce rivals Manchester City, the Old Trafford club finally secured his signature in August.
And despite having the option to join the Premier League champions, Van Persie says he chose United for a number of reasons, and that they are the perfect club for him.
"I' ve been here only for a few weeks now but I feel very welcome. Ihave to thank everyone, it's a great club, everyone has been very helpful," he told The Times of India .
"United breathes football — in every aspect. It's a great club. That's why I made my decision to come here quite quickly.
"[The decision to join United] was based on a lot of things — Man Utd players, the stadium and the manager. I think everyone knowsme by now. From that perspective I am quite principled. It's alwaysdifficult to find a perfect match but I think this club is just perfect for me."
Van Persie also revealed his decision to take the No.20 shirt at Old Trafford, saying he chose it because he is hoping to lead the side to a record 20th league title.
"Well, I had the option of 20 or 21 and the reason I took this shirt isbecause we're all here to be champions this year and that would mean a 20th league title for United," he added.
"I would certainly like to be part of that, they have [had an era of dominance] already and I'd like to help them do it again."
The Dutch striker is hoping to move on from past disappointments including spells on the sidelines through injury, and even his missed penalty against Southampton earlier this season - something he still struggles to explain.
"A career won't be always a bed of roses. You have disappointment," he added.
"Look at my missed penalty kick against Southampton recently. That is what you call a disappointment. Taking a penalty kick in that way when you are 2-1 behind — that's just bad and I couldn't explain it, not even to myself.
"But it's about how you react. What you do next? Do you stay disappointed? Or are you going to hunt, and get over it? In the game I put it behind me, thankfully and went on to score a hat-trick.

"We Have A Lot Of Desperate Girls In The Industry, Some Think They Have To Sleep Around To Get Roles" - Ifeoma Anyiam
We don't get to see you in movies anymore.
Where have been?
Well, I've been around, although I traveled out of the country for a while. I travelled to the UK, and lived there for awhile before returning to the country. Upon my return, I got married to my husband and had my baby.
So, why haven't you been starring in movies since then?
When I returned to the country, I decided to veer into something else.
Like what?
I went into buying and selling . I'd also organise events for my clients. That's what I'm doing presently.
Does that mean you've dumped acting?
I haven't dumped acting. I just wanted to have time for my child. So, I've been away from acting for three years now. I want to see him grow to about four to five years before I can stage a comeback to acting.
Did your instigated your decision to quit acting?
My husband didn't ask me to quit acting. I had to take a break from acting on my own to nurture my family.
Your husband is relatively unknown to many of your fans?
We met in 2004. We courted for some years and later got married.
Is he also in the movie industry?
No, he's not. He's a business man.
So, he asked you to leave the country at that time?
Yes. I had my baby over there too. At that time, he was in the UK. So, I had to travel to meet him over there and we both returned to Nigeria together. But he is not in the country at the moment.
How then are you coping with his absence?
It's not as if he stays there permanently, most times, he is in the country. In fact, he spends more time with me and our baby. He simply shuttles between Nigeria and abroad.
How do you feel to be married?
Being married is beautiful. I'd say that when you are marriedto someone who loves and respects you, things become easier. It's not that we don't have our ups and downs but because of the understanding we have, things become easier to handle.
You took a break from acting at a time when your fans expected more from you. Don't you miss acting?
Yes, I did. Most times, I missed acting but because I traveled out of the country, there was nothing I could do. And when I returned, I already had a baby. So, I had to think like a mother- my baby comes first. But I'm considering of returning to the screen next year when my baby will clock four or five years.
How was your childhood years?
I was born Ifeoma Anyiam but my surname is Nwaedo. My growing up was fun. I'm from a family of five children and I happened to be the second child. I was born in the North and had my early childhood there. We came back to Lagos because of the riot, so, I had to finish my secondary school here. Afterwards, I had my Diploma in TV & Radio Communications at Lagos State University and my degree in Theater Arts also in LASU.
And your parents?
We describe my father as a very typical British man becausehe schooled in the UK and doesn't believe in flogging a child. All he does whenever we erred,is to sit us down and talk to us as adults. But my mother is more of an African woman because she doesn't spare the rod. So, I had a normal growing up- we were not so rich but we were not poor either. I was comfortable as a child because I never lacked anything.
What was growing up like in the North?
It was really good until that fateful day when the riot broke out. Actually, we had moved out our property in 1986 but I was really young at that time. But I was told that we'd already moved our things to the East because of the riot and later came back when he riot subsided.
But in 1992, the riot happened again. We were in the house when we started hearing gun shots and running up and down. Then, people started packing their things in a hurry and my mother had gone for the normal women meeting. She was suppose to come back at about 6pm but she didn't return until about 11pm. Then, my father was angry and she said she trekked all the way from their meeting place.
She told us there were fighting and burning of houses and before we knew what was hapening, the following day, we almost got burnt because our house was already sprayed with petrol but God in His infinite mercy sent soldiers who came to rescue us. So, the hoodlums fled, and we were able to escape. Since then, I haven't gone back to the North for anything but I did my NYSC in Kano.
Did you work else where before going into acting?
I worked briefly with AIT in the North but I had to leave because I wasn't comfortable staying in the North but I was acting at the same time. They wanted me to stay but I couldn't because it was scary staying there.
What inspired you into studying Theater Arts in school?
I don't really know, but I remember that while I was in secondary school, I wanted to be a known figure in the society. So, I did lots of sports and people knew me very well. But when I was through with my secondary school, my dream of studying Theater Arts shifted. I wanted to study Marketing at the university but one thing led to the other andI wasn't admitted to study Marketing. So, I was given Theater Arts. So while studying it, the zeal for acting resurfaced.
How did you break into the acting world?
While doing my Diploma, I had this friend, Steve (Yaw of Wazobia FM) who usually attend the AGN meetings. So whenever he came back to the class, he usually tell me about many notable actresses and actors. So, I was excited and wanted to meet them too. And back then, I used to love Ann Njemanze because people said we look alike.
She was like my role model at that time. So I asked Yaw if I could see Ann if I went with him, and he said yes. So, I followed him and saw many movie stars. I was so excited about it and one thing led to the other, I met someone (I can't remember his name) who asked me if I could act. I said yes and that was how I started.
Which was your first movie?
My first movie was "Hopes". But after that movie, I went back to school because I needed to concentrate on my studies. But when I started officially, my first movie was Havoc where I played my first major role.
So how does it feel to be a known face?
It is really good but sometimes, as an actress, you lose your privacy and people expect you to be perfect all the time, which isn't normal because we are humans.
People expect you to smile all the time and whenever they wave at you, you must wave back, whenever they stop you on the road, you must stop to say hi and they don't care where you are going to at that time. So, it's not easy. Being an actress has its own advantage because it opens doors wherever I go.
You said you have passion for acting, but earlier, you sounded as if acting was the last thing on your mind?
It's not as if I don't miss acting. I do and that's why I'm going back to it.
And your husband supports it?
Why not? He didn't stop me from acting. I took a break because I wanted to have time for my baby.
So, how does it feel being a mother?
It's so sweet, especially when he calls me Mummy. So sweet looking at him talk and misbehave sometimes. So, I don't regret being a mother. Being a wife is also tasking because sometimes you have to wake up- I don't know what to say. It's sweet and tasking too.
Before I could go to parties at anytime but as a wife, I can't do all that anymore. Even before I go anywhere, I have to take permission from him and he could even tell me not to go. So, I have restriction. But it's sweet caring for my husband and my baby.
Do you miss partying?
Although, I'm a social person not to the extreme. I'm also very reserved. I don't miss partying because I still party with my husband- we got to the club once in a while.
I was surprised seeing you dressed in a gown suit.
Why aren't you looking colourful and expensive like other actresses do whenever they go out?
Yes, that's because I'm going for a formal event. So, if I'm going for a party, I'm sure I'm not going to dress like this.
What kinds of clothes do you like?
Maybe I'll just wear a pair of jeans and a nice top with good accessories for a party.
How do you react to advances from men now?
I just tell them that I'm married.
But men don't easily let go of beautiful women…?
That's true because some of them can be stubborn. But onceyou tell them you're married, they'll leave you alone.
Remember your husband isn't always around…?
Like I told you, my husband isn't always out of the country. He comes around regularly
Does that mean he has his business here?
Yes, he has his business here.
We know your husband isn't always around…?
Well, I can't say but he's always around, he's around.
Which do you prefer between Nollywood and business?
I'm very good at business but comparing it with Nollywood, I'll say acting is really nice. There are a lot of things you can get from being an actress. But I enjoy doing business any time any day.
What kind of business are you really talking about here?
I'm into cosmetics, clothes, shoes, handbags and everything.
While trying to come up as an actress, what were the challenges you faced?
It wasn't easy to break through because I had to do everything to impress teh producers. Trying to climb, sometimes, some of the producers might want to take advantage of you by not paying you the exact amount they earlier agreed to pay before you accepted the job. But because you need the job and you're trying to climb, you'll do it and won't eventually get paid. Sometimes, some producers would know how much you worth but won't pay you that amount because they know you're still new.
What was the lowest amount you earned?
I would say N20,000
Now that you're coming back, how much do you think producers will offer you?
I wouldn't say because I've been off the scene for some time now.
What can you say about sexual harrassment in the industry?
I don't know about the sexual harassment because sometimes ladies can be funny too. We have a lot of desperate girls in the industry who are trying to climb and some of them think they have to offer their bodies to get roles.
But it's always sad because they get cheated along the line because they end up sleeping with the wrong persons who wouldn't give them the roles and end up blaming it on the producers.
These things happen in every sector. I think women have to watch it. If you're good, you have to earn it. You don't have to sleep around because for how long would one continue to sleep around- it makes no sense. If people don't recognize you today, you'll be recognized tomorrow.
So what wouldn't you do for money?
I can't kill for money. I can't pose nude for money and I can't go diabolical for money.
There are a lot of things I can't do for money.
Between love and money, which one will you choose?
Well, I'll take love but money is still important because money makes love stronger
Does it mean you can't settle down with a man who is not so rich?
I haven't said that. When you marry a man, I'm sure you can't feed on sand. And the man can't keep singing songs of love into your ears without providing for your needs. So, lovecomes first but money is also important.
So when your husband approached you,
What drew your attention to him?
When my husband approached me, it was his physic that attracted him to me because then I used to love R.Kelly. So my husband was like R.Kelly. Afterward, I noticed he has a good nature- he's sweet, nice, understands me well, he knows when I'm not happy and when I'm happy.

Empress Njamah - “I And Timaya Are Not Dating Again"
"I and Timaya are not dating again. He saw me at the party and came to exchange pleasantries with me. There is nothing wrong with that. If we are not dating again does not mean that we are worn enemies."
Empress said
Empress was said to have sat at the same table with some of her Nollywood colleagues when Timaya reportedly got closer to her and whispered into Empress ear as they both laughed.
"He was just trying to be nice and Empress replied him, saying "That's that." a source disclosed.
Timaya and Empress Njamah began dating over four years back. But in August, 2009, at a church in Festac, Lagos, Timaya was reported to have been beaten by some naval men when he stormed the church with the aim to attack Empress.
He was said to have caused fracas in the church, shouting that Empress should return the key to the car he bought for her. The controversial singer also reportedly called Empress a thief, a situation that led to their permanent separation. Timaya has since moved on with his life. In May 2012, he welcomed his first child, a baby girl from his girlfriend.

Snoop Dogg Appreciated Delima Ronaldo's Style On And Off The Pitch
You may not know this, but rapper Snoop Dogg is an old school soccer fan.
Goal.com caught up with Snoop for a few minutes at a promotional event on Monday night, and the hip-hop legend spit some soccer knowledge when asked about his favorite soccer player: Ronaldo.
"That's Ronaldo from Brazil from back in the day," he told Goal.com. "When I first started watching soccer, going to Europe for the first time, he was the one who was the most dynamic to me. I loved the way he played. He played with a lot of style, he was good and he had the different hairstyles. His hair was pretty."
Snoop currently keeps tabs on the U.S. national team. He participated in a charity flag football game with Hope Solo earlier this year and appreciates the Olympic gold medal-winning goalkeeper's attitude.
"She's a rider," he said. "I played with her in a celebrity flag game and she's tough. I know she's tough on that soccer field because she was tough in that flag game, and we were playing insane."
But while Snoop is a fan of soccer, it appears that his heart will always be with American football. The "Gin and Juice" rapper hasa charity called the Snoop Youth Football League, which brings inner-city youngsters onto the football field to help them learn life values.
Snoop is currently promoting FIFA 2013, but he's never going to give up on the Madden franchise.
"I love Madden, I can't live without it," he said with a smile.

"I don't smoke and drink"
How do you survive the temptations?

What has been your biggest temptation?
"It will always be women; there is this issue of women clouding over the industry. I don't know what they want from me or my marriage, whether it is money or bragging rights, I don't know."
So, how have you been able to manage that?
"I just keep praying and my wife understands"

Ebube Nwagbo: "A Woman Is Never Complete Without A Good Hair"
"My going into Posh Hair was my love for looking good. I wanted to invest into something I love. A woman is never complete without a good hair, and at that time the craze for human hair just set in. Every lady wanted to look good. But truth is it's not everybody that can afford to buy them because they are quite expensive. So I decided to do something for people out there thatcan't afford the luxury to look like their celebrities. With Posh Hair, you can still get the celebrity look without breaking a bank. Posh hair cuts across for everybody. We have got varieties depending on your budget. There's something for everybody. No matter who you are, we have different products to suit different tastes and classes. Going into posh hair was also because it is something that will help me to expand and grow, because it was part of what I needed.''
She also said that her acting career will not be forfeited for her new hair business; the reason is because she is a multifaceted person.
''I am not leaving any for the other. I juggle both. I am an actress as well as a producer and an entrepreneur. I am happy about that. It has not been easy, but hard work is very important in any success story.''

NollyWood Diva, Omotola Jalade Denies Butt Implant
"The Omotola we used to know was shapely not as Donklicious as this. But the dimension of her bum today is just awesome! Look athow flat her tummy is. Combine that with the size of her hips and…. It all suggests that she must have had a bum lift. What we are seeing today is the product of cosmetic surgery; bum enhancement. There is no way she can deny it; she's definitely had a bum lift,"
However, a close insider begged to differ;
"Omotola didn't get any bum lift procedure, it's just her natural physique as a result of weight gain. She is a callipygian by nature. That is her real physique. What makes it so obvious now is that she has added a little weight. People should stop spreading rumors. Okay, if she could do a bum lift, why not breast enlargement as well because we all know she has rather small boobs. That tells you it's all rumors."

“I was ready to lose the election if Nigerians did not want me" - Pres Jonathan
"I was ready to lose the election if Nigerians did not want me. If Iwas ready to be disgraced out of office to sanitise the system, that is to tell you I am ready to sanitise the system to bring about investments in our country," Jonathan stated.
Speaking at a breakfast meeting on the Nigerian economy organised by the African Business Roundtable in New York, USA, Jonathan also noted that the reason why many Nigerian political leaders fight to sit tight in office was because of the fear of the unknown.
He, however, assured that he has vowed that the electoral reforms embarked upon by his administration would continue to ensure that the choice of the people emerge at every election, adding that he was fully committed to solving the nation's electoral problems.
The Nigerian president added: "We are totally committed to solving our problem. We started with the electoral process and we have demonstrated our commitment in sanitising that system because when the people put you there you will be committed to serving the people."
He assured investors that he would do everything to sanitise the investment environment to attract the much-needed investment and create jobs for the teeming youth who, he observed, make up the majority of the nation's population.
Noting that this critical segment of the society could not be ignored as they were the ones that needed housing and jobs, Jonathan expressed hope that Nigeria could join the elite group of the world economies between eight and 10 years as it has been proved in other countries that it does not take eternity to solve the development problems of a country.
On Nigerians in Diaspora who want the opportunity to contribute their quota to the development of the country, he promised to carry the Nigerian people along in the governance process even though he conceded that it was not possible to involve all in the administration of the country at the same time.
"We have a lot of eggheads in Nigeria. Unfortunately, not all willbe ministers but we appoint them into teams where we have challenges to help address them. We meet monthly. Soon our economy will be what you will be proud of," he said.
Present at the meeting were former British prime minister Tony Blair, former United States secretary of state Condoleezza Rice, international investors and captains of industry from Nigeria.
Jonathan told them that Nigeria has numerous problems but his government has decided to prioritise its options in order to systematically deal with the challenges.
Also speaking, Tony Blair urged Nigerians not to always accept the stance of the opposition on issues as they were not speaking for the majority of the citizens but a few vested interests.
Drumming support for President Jonathan, the former British prime minister lauded his effort to reform the political and economic sectors of the country, which he said was a difficult but necessary thing to do.
"One of the things I learned since leaving office is that it is not easy to get the advice and take the decisions. Each set of the reforms are hard and tough. I know how difficult it is to make changes. When you are doing the changes, it is very, very toughand difficult for government. On the other hand, it is absolutely necessary," he said.
Blair said with what was going on in Nigeria, the country was on its way up, noting that once Nigeria was on its way up, it meant that Africa was on its way up.
He said, "My plea is to stick with it, support the president and the ministers in making these changes. My plea to Nigerians is: Don't be deterred by the voices that say they are representing the majority of the public but often are actually representing the minority or vested interests.
"Among all these difficulties and challenges, there is hope of optimism and opportunities for Nigeria. We all know that in politics as in life, the difficult thing is not in the saying but in the doing. It was all about the courage to make the changes that are necessary

"I Have Been Close To D’banj Since Day One" - Ikechukwu
"I have heard a lot about my relationship with D'banj. Some people call me his houseboy, bouncer, and the rest, but let me say this, I have been close to D'banj since day one. The first time I saw him was at Obi Asika's house, when he was about signing to Storm Records...and if you're observant, you would have discovered that we have similar features; he's lepa just like me and we have same swagger. So we've created some kind of bond right from time which I was not opportuned to share with Don Jazzy. I only find people that find me, simple! Those that I am important to are those that are important to me. I am just chilling with D'banj and now that he's making a stand abroad, it's going to be stupid of me not to utilize the situation he already has. So, we are not just friends, we are also doing business" -
The rapper tells Encomium magazine in an exclusive interview
