Ameh Daily Interviews Gifted Singer; THEODORA

A very energetic and enterprising young lady she favours Gospel/Soul/ R'n'B music genres but is a lover of all things music...

A-Zay: Briefly tell me about yourself

Theodora: Theodora is a lot of tinz....if I were to describe myself I wud say am warm, nice and easy going young lady. I like to observe what eva is going on around me.... Most times such scenarios/situations get reflected in my music.
I am also very plain and direct... So I wud say am an open book. What u see... Is what u get.

A-Zay: Who did you grow up listening to and how did that shape your chosen career?

Theodora: I was blessed to have very musical parents... We (My siblings & I) would always know wen my mum was home because she would always drive into the house singing in her car, as she came down from her car, she would keep singing right up until she walked into the house and gave us all hugs..... While not a professional singer, my mum always singing around d house, we literally grew up listening to her singing.... My dad on the other hand.... I believe had d highest collection of gramophone records I have ever seen till date... He was a genuine music lover.
My brother & I will come home from primary school immediately, change to our house clothes and if PHCN was kind to us on that day.... We would sing and dance to oldies like Donna Summers, Diana Ross, Bonnie M, Jackson 5 etc... We won't even ask what's for lunch :)
Movies like Grease, Sound of Music amongst others were early influences as well....
As I grew older I started listening to my own music... Whitney Houston, Cece Winans, TLC, Boyz II Men, Britney Spears, Salt n Pepa... and many more. My playlist was and still is an eclectic mix of music.
Music is something I grew up in and was taught to appreciate but to be honest as a teenager it was NOT through singing music found expression it was through dance.... So my background was in dance/choreography/dance drama/pantomime.... It is only just recently (5years ago) that I gravitated to singing.

A-Zay: What is your inspiration?

Theodora: What inspires me is the need to help other people through music.... I don't want my focus to be on the glamorous or fame seeking side of music...
I want to make music that makes d listener a better person after listening.
So that inspires me ALL d time. I always ask myself questions like - How can I make d listener happy? What is d average Joe/Jane on the other side of this CD taking away wit him/her after listening to this song?
It always important to me that other people feel better about themselves.... So that serves as inspiration enough for me to keep writing songs, keep singing, keep reaching out to people.

A-Zay: I see, so what are your hobbies?

Theodora: My hobbies will be reading fiction, watching movies and sleeping... Nah sleep sure pass...lol

A-Zay: First song ever sung?

Theodora: Hahaha! First time I ever sang in public was at my dad's 40th Birthday party... It was.... lol... It's the thought/gesture that counts.

A-Zay: Do you perform in public? Describe those occasions? Concerts, radio, TV?

Theodora: Yes I have performed within and outside Nigeria. Sometimes in the singing capacity and most times in the dance capacity.
There are too many to describe frankly but two stand out as the most memorable to me.
The first one was at Olabisi Onabanjo University... 2006. Ago - Iwoye Town Hall is filled to capacity (it seats 3000).

My dance partner & I were performing to Jaci Valesquez's - Eschshame/Listen to Me, it was a salsa upbeat track and it just tore up the stage. That was the first time I got a standing ovation in my career... It was a very humbling experience.
The second most memorable was in 2011 at the LTS Center, Selangor, Malaysia, I did a cover of Carrie Underwood's - Jesus Take the Wheel.
I just felt blessed to be able to use that platform to sing a gospel song and to mention that name "Jesus" to a group of people who otherwise would have had cause to get acquainted with that name.

A-Zay: If you weren't singing, what would you be doing?

Theodora: As far as careers go if am not singing or into music in any form. Then IT - Information Technology is my second love... Yep my secret is out! Am a techno geek! lol... but yea I would major in the creative side of IT - Webdesign, Animation, Multimedia and Graphic Design... Still in d creative/arty field

A-Zay: Ya! I know You work.. So how do you balance your Music with your job ?

Theodora: Not easy at all! But where there is a will there is a way... Plus I know all the juggling makes me a more disciplined and organised person... If som1 has to work 9 to 5pm Mon to Fri. That leaves weekends for studio sessions, photo shoots etc... So it teaches me how to better manage my time so no aspect of my work and music suffers.

A-Zay: After Your newest Single "Ko Si Isoro" was released, what kinda Feedbacks have you received ?

Theodora: Mostly positive... People are so kind and welcoming. Am even more sure when the video is released people would be even more impressed! So watch dis space closely!

A-Zay: Nice having you 'Theodora'

Theodora: Thanks for having me :)

A-Zay: And For Those of You that haff Carry last, That haven't listed to Theodora's - "Ko Si Isoro" .. *Stop boiling Stone*

Ameh Daily Interviews Rapper; A-Q

A-Zay: Can You Do a Brief Intro about yourself Please A-Q ?

A-Q: My name is Gilbert Bani Aka A-Q and I'm from imo state and I'm signed to Hustle Incorporated

A-Zay: I want to know the Full Meaning Of the Abbreviation (A-Q) ??

A-Q: (A)= Answer,          (-)= to the          (Q)= question A-Q means the answer to the question

A-Zay: Is your family musical?

A-Q: To be candid no one in my family does music apart from I, but I come from a very music loving family with every one listens to different genres of music E.g mum loves Dolly Paton and Oyeka Onwenu, Dad loves some funny italian music and but sometimes listens Fela

A-Zay: Which famous musicians do you admire? Why?

A-Q: I'd say I admire Nas cos of how he has kept his music real over the many years, and still has as many platinum albums as must of the sold out rappers, infact its only snoop and JayZ that has more platinum selling albums than he does, he recently dropped his 10th album and all the essence of hiphop were still present.

A-Zay: Which instruments do you play? And How often and for how long do you practice?

A-Q: I don't play any instruments even though I love when someone talented plays them, if I was going to learn how to play anyone though it would be the Guitar.. That instrument gets the ladies anytime, pls its handy and u can always move around with it

A-Zay: How Did You Feel When Don Jazzy Tweeted Back Then, Calling You "One Of the Sickest Rapper Alive" ?

A-Q: When I saw the tweet I was surprised
because I do not have any affiliation to Don jazzy or the now Defunct Mo hits.. It excited me at first.. But then after a couple of minutes I told myself 'A-Q u have worked very hard and u deserve all accolades u get' I did not however know that he listened to rap music, I thank him to this day because it did a lot for my career

A-Zay: Do you have any addictions?

A-Q: I do not have any addictions, but if music was one, I am here by guilty of being a Fin

A-Zay: What are You working On Now ?

A-Q: I'm putting finishing touches to my EP set to be released this month and working hard on the album set for release next year, also work on the sound track with Jimmy Jatt on the just concluded Next Door movie project shot by Sound and Effects company

A-Zay: How do you handle mistakes during a performance? *Lol*

A-Q: Well I rehearse and plan a lot so I encounter few mistakes during performance but mistakes are unavoidable and when I encounter one on stage I try as much to cover it up and move on.. And work harder not to encounter that mistake anymore

A-Zay: Who would you want to do a tour/concert with?

A-Q: I would love to go on tour with Eminem.. He is the only rapper that has hard sold out concerts in the weirdest countries ever, places u'd never think a rapper could go, as since he is hiphop to the core u'd be sure that the fans came to hear real rap, however if I were to go with a nigerian artiste it would be Vector   we have a couple songs together and he's such a clown lol, he will be good company on the road and very professional on stage

A-Zay: Lol.. How old were you when you had your first crush?

A-Q: I was 12 when I had my first crush,my family recently moved to a new area and she lived next door, I just felt I need to talk to her, that's what u call a crush innit, I actually talked to her a couple months later

A-Zay: Have you ever been so moved by a song that you cried? if Yes.. which Song are we talking about here ?

A-Q: The only artiste that moves my emotions so much is Tracy Chapman but not to the point of crying, hell no

A-Zay: *hahaha*..Tell us More About Your "GBTH BRAND" ??

A-Q: GBTH in full means God Bless The Hustle, it was just a line of my song Names but the fans were quick to grasp on to it. So I and my publicist decided to make it a brand, for now its divided into 2 the fashion outfit and the Promotions Outfit, I head the fashion out fit and my publicist Dro Ameh heads the Promotion outfit

A-Zay: How do you balance your music with other obligations; you know.. Work and Stuffs like that ??

A-Q: My secret is everything I do evolves round my music, eg I'm a rapper, a writer, an entertainment strategist and I own a fashion out fit, and eventhough I'm not very huge yet in any of these, it is quite visible that I am on my way, but everything rotates round A-Q the rapper

A-Zay: Any advice for Aspiring Artistes Out there ?

A-Q: For aspiring out artiste out there, the only advice I can give to them was something I was once told by a very wise man, he told me ' stay in that Boat long enough and you would see where the land is'

A-Zay: Okies.. Thanks For Your Time A-Q

A-Q: Thank u Ameh Daily for this interview God bless all my fans and all the True hip hop fan

A-Zay: Amen o!! Hip hop Fan to Sure.. :D .. Aiit Peeps that's All.. I'm signing Out *Peace*

(MP3) Theodora ~ KO SI ISORO

Theodora Ifedunke Imonikhe or simply called Dora by her family and friends; is a singer, songwriter, model, dancer and motivational speaker. At 8years old she could always be seen around her home singing into a hairbrush and belting songs from Sound of Music, Grease and most Walt Disney animated classics of the time to the delight of all the kids in her neighbourhood "I remember thinking to myself – I want to sing exactly like Julie Andrews" she added "she was one of my first music influences".

Since then she has continued to grow from strength to strength. A very energetic and enterprising young lady she favours Gospel/Soul/R & B music genres but is a lover of all things music and was always heavily involved in singing - dancing competitions/activities all throughout her high school and college years. She then set up her dance group (The King's Daughters), music group (TIEM) performing with them all across major cities in Nigeria.

Theodora has shared the stage with other notable artistes which include Mike Aremu, Inifnty, Gbenga Adenuga, Modele, Rooftop MCs amongst others.

She is currently working on her debut album – Stay with Me having just completed her program in Sound and Music Design at Limkokwing University of Creative Technology, Malaysia.

Her latest single 'Ko si Isoro' loosely translated in English means 'No more Troubles' is making a great buzz across the African continent, establishing Theodora as a artiste who isn't going anywhere anytime soon.

Theodora often recites the quote "Music is the universal language of Mankind" and that is what I strive to achieve with my music, to make the average Jane or Joe feel much better after listening to any one of my songs, one note at a time :)
