Good riddance to bad rubbish. Barth Nnaji resign and sacked!

By Dunlero | AmehDaily

My Oga, for the first time pls do permit me to be at a variance with you on the nuisance Barth Nnaji constituted himself into .......

I heard about this Professor when I was in Owerri in 2009, I heard him gave a lecture on POWER in an IMO State organized an annual lecture over the radio, I was frantically looking for the audio tape/CD/DVD etc because the lecture sounded like a road map out of this power failure brouhaha. See me ooooooh, I even prayed that God will let him get to a position of Minister so that he could implement ALL these novel ideas - unknown to me all nah mouth, like Orin Ekiti pikin will say "Barth is mouthed ejooooooor" All what he said was a plagiarism of idea, he "copy" but couldn't "paste"........ What a shame!!!! I've written about him on my wall months back!

People dey shout power improvement, please what is the cost of the so called power improvement to Nigerians? Why increasing the tariffs rate in May (=N=11), June (=N=12.45) and August (=N=16.56) 2012 if there is no personal interest?? his reason was to make it "sell-able" to the new investors, can u believe this line? Even SLS with his mumu 5K note idea won't put forward a thing like this and might debunk this claim, lobatan!!

If Barth couldn't be blamed for this geometric increase in tariff rate abeg minus him from the kudos of the tasereee power improvement!!

I still get plenty to write but my eyelids are closing....... G o od ni g ht

Modric Joins Real Madrid On Five-Year Contract

Tottenham have confirmed that Luka Modric is to leave the club to join Real Madrid and have announced a partnership agreement with the Spanish club.

"Luka has been a terrific player for us and, whilst we preferred not to part with him, we are pleased that it is to Real Madrid, a club with which we now look forward to sharing a long and productive partnership," Spurs chairman Daniel Levy told the club's official website.

The 26-year-old's arrival in the Spanish capital may help Real put a poor start to the season behind them, during which they have taken one point from two La Liga outings and lost Thursday's first leg of the Spanish Super Cup 3-2 at Barcelona

A Fee of £33 million had been agreed between the two sides. Modric will be leaving for Spain before the end of the transfer window.

"We are delighted to welcome Luka and look forward to working closely with Tottenham in the coming years." Real Madrid president Florentino Perez stated

"I'm ready for everything. I'm going to work hard for the team, and hopefully my qualities can bring success to the team." Modric Said

Modric himself said last year he wanted to move to Chelsea but Levy blocked any deal with the club's London neighbours.

President GEJ is an alcoholic, glutton?

Special Adviser to President Goodluck Jonathan on Media, Dr. Reuben Abati, has debunked insinuations that Jonathan is a drunk and a glutton.

In an opinion article in The Guardian on Sunday, Abati said the piece was to "correct" some of the myths about Jonathan, underline the achievements of the administration and equip the "twittering, pinging,Facebook crowd of the new age" with facts that should guide social commentaries.

The social network have been awashed with reports of the President's passionate love for the local gin, Ogogoro, widely brewed in Jonathan's home state of Bayelsa State.

Abati said, "We are not allowed to touch alcohol. Alcohol is not served during official duties. Yes, when there is an international function, wine is served, but nobody gets drunk around here (Presidency). That will amount to an act of indiscipline.

"The President himself does not allow alcohol to be served at his table. But when you go to social network media, they tell you something else. Lies. Lies. Lies."

The presidential spokesman also denied that contrary to what had been circulated on social network sites, Jonathan does not eat much.

He said, "I have even heard that the President spends billions on feeding. Well, I have enjoyed the privilege of eating at the President's table. What does he eat? Fish pepper soup. Cassava bread, slices of yam, rice, boiled plantain, fruits and vegetables.

"He fasts when he chooses, and fasts all month during Ramadan and Lent. And because he takes his exercises and keep fit regime seriously, he eats very little. Okay, he drinks coffee.  And yet, there are people out there who keep claiming that there is a feast in the Villa every day. They say at every meal, the table is decorated with roasted turkey, and every delicacy under the sun. Lies. Lies.

"This President is not a glutton. We have a disciplined, hardworking President who enjoys his privacy, and the company of intelligent people." - thecitizenng

"Messi better than everybody" - POPESCU

Ronaldo vs Messi

Former Barcelona captain Gheorghe Popescu believes only huge Real Madrid fans can argue Cristiano Ronaldo is better than Lionel Messi .

The superstar duo both scored in the first leg of the Supercopa Clasico on Thursday when the Catalan club were 3-2 winners, with the second leg to be contested at the Bernabeu on Wednesday.

Popescu, who played at Camp Nou for two seasons 1995 and 1997, has no doubt in his mind that Messi is a greater player than his Blancos adversary.

"You have to be a big Madrid fan to think Cristiano as better than Messi," the ex-Romania international told AS .

"Take away allegiance and there is no possible comparison between them.

"There is Messi and then there are others. Cristiano is a great player but does not have the quality to win a game that only Messi has."

Reckless is the watchword | Mercy Johnson, Iyabo Ojo, Tonto Dikeh & Sindodo tops!

Mercy Johnson
Mercy Johnson has always been in the news even before her controversial wedding to Edo big boy, Prince Odi Okojie on Saturday, August 27, 2011. The lady hit the news headlines when she was pictured exposing her private part at an event. It was obvious in the photograph that she did not wear pant or bra. Her wedding became an issue, which was feasted on by the print media as she was alleged to have snatched another person's husband as revealed by one Lovelyn, a supposed wife of Prince Okojie. Mercy Johnson is one actress with scandalous sexual controversies.

Ini Edo
Another name on the list is that of Inibong Edobong, better known as Ini Edo. Ini is one Nollywood actress that is synonymous with sex scandals in the industry. Her wedding was a bit controversial after she was believed to have snatched Philip Ehiagwina from society lady, Ruth Okoro. She was once rumoured to be having a romantic affair with a governor in the South-South region of Nigeria. Also recently, she was reported to have left a club with another man.

Tonto Dikeh
Tonto Dikeh is unarguably the most controversial Nollywood actress. The beautiful lady has always been in the news since her emergence in the movie industry in 2006. She was recently alleged to have been paid N5million for sex by the Managing Director of Sifax, Mr. Taiwo Afolabi. Tonto is also noted for being a lover of tattoo as she has more than 57 designs on her body. One other thing about this lady is that she is a heavy smoker, and she once had a brawl with Van Vicker on a movie set in 2011.

Iyabo Ojo
One of the best hands in the Yoruba genre of Nollywood, Iyabo Ojo is not new to negative stories. It was reported that a top Lagos politician and former Senator gave her the Range Rover SUV she is cruising around town. Her bitter fight with colleague, Lizzy Anjorin was almost becoming monumental until some industry heavyweights stepped in to broker peace between the two beautiful actresses. Apart from that, the controversial actress has been involved in several sex scandals and she was once reported to have been caught having sex with a man at the back seat of a car in London.

Funke Akindele
Until her recent wedding to Oshodi big boy, Alhaji Kehinde Almaroof Oloyede, Funke was really an actress with many sex scandals. She was alleged to have fought with one of her colleagues on a movie set in 2011 over a man. Some have also rumoured that she had escapades with some notable men before her marriage, which held with funfare on May 26, 2012. Her wedding to Almaroof also became controversial as she was reported to be going into Almaroof's life as a third wife.

Genevieve Nnaji
Genny, as sexy Genevieve Nnaji is fondly called, has been romantically linked with several actors in Nollywood. Ramsey Nouah, RMD, Pat Attah and others are some of the men she was rumoured to have dated. Genevieve was once said to have dated a topmost politician in Nigeria, apart from other alleged sexcapades here and there. Though she has become the face of a popular vehicle manufacturer, her sex life in the industry can never be easily forgotten in a hurry.

Tayo Odueke (Sikiratu Sindodo)
Not many know Tayo Odueke by her real name, she is better known and addressed as Sikiratu Sindodo, a name she got from one of her movie flicks. One of her most popular scandals was her hot romance with a leader of the National Union of Road Transport Workers (NURTW) in Oshodi, Lagos, Musiliu Akinsanya also known as MC Oluomo. Oluomo was even said to have sent her to Saudi Arabia for holy pilgrimage.
She was also rumoured to have dated actor and producer, Kunle Afod. Just few months ago, there gist went round town that she was having an affair with younger brother of Kunle Afolayan, Aremu which she has profusely denied. She is presently rumoured to be in a sizzling romance with top Fuji artiste, Malaika.

Stella Damasus
Nollywood beautiful actress, Stella Damasus is seen by many as the industry 'good girl' until she was alleged to have caused the separation of fellow actress, Doris Simeon with her hubby, Daniel Ademinokan. Stella was reported to have started a love affair with Daniel before his marriage with Simeon crashed. Her secret was exposed by a soft sell magazine, which reported that Doris was ready to fight Stella for snatching her hubby. There were also reports that both Daniel and Stella have been seen together in some compromising ways. Though Stella and Daniel have denied having any amorous relationship, but some are still in doubt that their closeness is a business affair.

Bukky Wright
Her failed marriages and romantic affairs with some big wigs in the industry have been a thing for many to feed on. Bukky Wright's pretty looks has attracted many men to her. The mother of two is surely not free from some scandals associated with the play-acting profession in Nigeria. She has been severally alleged of hoping from one bed to another.

Faithia Balogun
This estranged wife of top Nollywood actor, Saidi Balogun, Faithia is surely also not free of some scandals in Nollywood. She was once rumoured to have fought her colleague in the Yoruba movie industry over a young Ibadan politician, Rotimi Ajanaku. She was rumoured to have alleged that the lady snatched Ajanaku from her. She was once reported to be in sizzling romance with the Director of Corporate Pictures, Alhaji Abdullahi Razak. It was also reported that this almost destroyed the marriage of the top marketer. One funny thing about Faithia is the fact that she is yet to drop the surname of her former husband, Balogun.

Stephanie Okereke
Stephanie Okereke was reported in 2011 to have fought with Genevieve Nnaji when she reportedly found out that Genevieve had allegedly cornered her link to a man in the presidency she reportedly introduced Geneveive to in the presidency. She was reported to have felt bad that Genny cornered her in getting access to the presidency through a former aide of President Goodluck Jonathan, Douglas Oronto. Stephanie was said to be the only link Genevieve had to Douglas until she found her way through another means. Stephanie has also been linked with some sex scandals in the past.

Mosun Filani
At the wee hours of her movie career, was enmeshed into hot romantic relationships with actors; Muyiwa Ademola and Odunlade Adekola. She was reported to have almost ruined the marriage of Muyiwa, but for the understanding of his wife. Her wedding to Kayode Adeoye, who is a son of former police AIG, was very controversial. She was alleged to have snatched Kayode from another woman, who had two children for him. Weeks later, her former lover, Alhaji Babatunde, believed to be the head of 'Omo onile' in Epe, a suburb of Lagos, ordered Mosun to return a car gift he gave her while they were together. This was after Alhaji got the news that she has married Kayode.

THE FULL PRESS STATEMENT From Obi Asika & Olisa Adibua's 'Response' Statement

Here is a press release statement issued by Obi Asika today:

Storm 360 confirms that Mr Olisa Adibua is no longer a director of the company.  This decision was reached at a properly constituted company EGM. Mr Adibua was a non-executive director of Storm 360 and has never been involved in the management and operations of Storm 360. The company will not engage in public discussions about its internal business operations. Storm is facing forward and continues to build upon its position as a leading light in Nigeria's entertainment industry and community.

Thank you, Board and Management of Storm 360

Obi Asika.

Here is a statement from Olisa Adibua in response, read below:

'As a director and founding shareholder of storm 360 Ltd, my attention has been drawn to certain unfounded statements in the media about my alleged removal as director of the company
There is therefore need to clear the air and put right the mis-stated facts leading to the said publication.

Sometime in 2011 my attention as a director of the company was drawn to certain huge and unauthorized withdrawals running on the company's Naira and Dollar accounts. Not having been supplied any explanation and having noted the fact that the debits were to the benefit of unauthorized persons, the matter was reported to d police for investigation.
All efforts to get the other members of the board to assist in the investigations proved futile and while the investigations were on-going, a meeting of the company was hastily called in which no notice was served on me and in which the deliberations was conducted in the most clandestine manner.

For failing to comply with legal requirements for such meeting, my solicitors have commenced the necessary legal process to contest the glaringly invalid removal and set same aside.
The investigations into the fraudulent misappropriation of the company's funds are still on and upon conclusion will reveal all the perpetrators of the fraud against the company which I and the other well-meaning members of the company have striven to build.

The public is advised to ignore such unabashed campaign of calumny as both criminal investigations and judicial proceedings are on-going which will eventually set the records straight. For the avoidance if doubt, I still remain a member of the board of the company and any claims to the contrary are completely false  – Olisa Adibua, who also works as an OAP and MC, is a co-founder of Storm and owns 20 per cent shares of the company.

'Square Record & May D split - A repeat of 9ice & Ruggedman?' | MayD booted off Love Afrobeat 2012 Festival

By Dunlero | AmehDaily

The vitiation of the contract between May D and Square records came as a great shock, the medium used by Jude Okoye to announce the contract cancellation increased the tempo of the shock.

A contract that was not contracted through Blogs and online friends was terminated through these media. This was reminiscent of the Federal Government sacking of the former EFCC boss on-air. Jude should have shown more understanding and not re-acting to the spur of the moment irrespective of the "irreconcilable" differences between square records and the artist – May D.

May D profile was on the raise but this mis-understanding can mar his career if care is not taken to salvage this bundle of talent. On the surface, May D should have been more submissive and learn more of the trade rather than competing with the bigger stars that made him. I read from several blogs that despite riding a Hummer 2 jeep, he complains about the "harsh" treatment been meted to him by the Okoye's label. Appearing in re-mix having Akon or Rick Ross hasn't made him to be that super star.

Upcoming artists should first found their feet rather than trying to fly, the haste of these one track a-life-time artistes is killing their career. The haste makes the artists to un-necessarily arrogate a false air of celebrities to themselves when they should still be a backup singer. Better to learn how to stoop to conquer than been carried away.

It is a Mutual Assured Destruction (MAD) when it gets to the heads of these artists. I believe that if the mis-understanding between May D and Square records is not sorted out, the guy might not make meaningful music going forward. Look at 9ice, I believe he has been preoccupied by the fight with Rugged man and the former colleagues at Coded Tunez.

The upcoming artist should take it easy and learn the rules before they "Blow"

Obi Asika & Olisa Adibua 'feud' over fraud claims

Storm Records led by Obi Asika issued a statement earlier announcing that OAP Olisa Adibua is not longer an executive with the entertainment copy. Which would mean they were parting ways after over a decade.

Olisa Adibua has swiftly responded to the statement emailed from the official Storm Records email. Olisa's statement read:

''As a director and founding shareholder of storm 360 Ltd, my attention has been drawn to certain unfounded statements in the media about my alleged removal as director of the company

REVIEW | Capital F.E.M.I - The Year of R 'n' B ( Hey Banky W & Darey! Capital F.E.M.I. is in a class of his own now)

There is Banky W, Darey and then Capital F.E.M.I. F.E.M.I is in a class of his own now.

Capital FEMi's new album is a RnB, not pop album. It is settled that this singer has a distinct voice and he can sing with that voice. 17 RnB tracks with production credit from TY Mix, J Sleek, Masterkraft, Hakeem Abdulsamad and Surefire Music Group - how he'd have such a line up and still keep it RnB is remarkable. Perks that should excite one to listen would be collaborative tracks with the singer's brother Gbenga Adeyinka and Kennis Music honcho/executive producer Kenny Ogungbe.

The Master kraft-produced album title tracks sets the pace.

If his diction and aura might have said otherwise, F.E.M.I is making a RnB for the average Nigerian good music lover, the Sarz' produced 'Get low' where he references his roots re states this is Nigerian. His break-out, slight hit - Baby I got it with the thumping kicks sits as the third track, shines as the beautiful single material that it is. We did see Jaywon getting featured on the album, the collaborative track between the 'file be' singer and F.E.M.I was the fourth 'Am just saying' with the trademark flow from Sauce Kid.

Up on till the fifth track, F.E.M.I keeps the bass thumping, the solo track 'Duro timi' is a love song and as the subject suggest, with the hook delivered mostly in Yoruba.

RnB album without beautiful piano preface is simply incomplete. 'If' sees the Capital F.E.M.I win again, outside the rap verse.

After the relatively unknown Poka Face - featured 'Dial my heart', tracks like 'never felt a love' and 'In the name of love' prep listeners for the song where the singer delivers only assisted by backup singers and a piano. Femi's ability to effortlessly fuse yoruba words and slang is another plus, remarkable - Hakeem Abdulsamad-produced 'I found my wife' is a beautiful record, a single material. Interesting, Gbenga Adeyinka-featured 'everything' (who introduces the track and closes the track, talking over the beat as FEMI croons) is not an album filler and doesn't overhaul the entire feel of the album.

'Don't let go', 'Playlist', 'Am a star' featuring 2face, oops Joe EL was definitely a track I was looking forward. FEMI's rapping alter ego had to surface to speak about his 'star' status. Album closes with 'Oh My God'.

The Year of R 'n' B is a brilliant effort but more applauding is his lack of interest in making the kind of music that would move units - this is close to art.

REVIEW | Iyanya - Kukere Remix feat. D'Banj.

I think it is evident who was the 'brain' at the now defunct Mo'Hits. Don Jazzy, of course! This is not to say D'Banj didn't contribute - he definitely did as I believe that even if Don Jazzy was given two months to produce 'Solar Plexus', the difference won't have made much.

It is difficult not to see D'Banj's recent moves as a 'response' to Don Jazzy and his Mavins extra exposure on covers of magazine and newspaper which I just see as desperate and ill-thought. Why remix a monstrous hit track? It seems either of the two to critics - I'm not very confident in my solo materials or I'm not as Business savvy as I divulged in my tell-all interview after the break up with Don Jazzy hit the fans. He needs to stay relevant, true but he has a million and one ways to do S̴o, not jumping on a Tony Montana Remix then Kukere remix with videos for both to be released before the year runs out.

After Solar Plexus didn't hit that mark (some of us would say) and 'sister caro' by Kay Switch featuring D'Banj had every element to be a monstrous hit, kokomaster became 'eja nla!'. I said D'Banj could never go wrong in addition to the fact that like his former partner he wasn't quick to announce/launch a record label (BTW, I understand why Don Jazzy had to launch Mavin Records as he did, just felt he should not have put out a body of work as a unit, yet).

Take this instance, which is most likely going to trend on Twitter (on top the trendtopics) - Sewa featuring Vector or Tuface or Don Jazzy? Let's not fool ourselves. Vector would have to kick his best lines, Tuface would have to be very 'unserious' (endless criticism) or 'be legendary' (otherwise, nothing) while Don Jazzy would trend from just the confirmation that he is on the song. It is not his recharge cards that would make him trend, it is because even as we would say he has lost the 'mystic' that made him a 'Don', a verse or even a beat is still very golden.

Kukere would not be D'Banj's last remix for an already monstrous hit, pray I am proven wrong.

I'd have thought he was conversant with 'when it is not readily available, the value hits a pitch high'. Otherwise, put in some effort creative wise, it is safe to say if D'Banj keeps relying on his 'unserious demeanor' that fans would move pass his music when they get enough doze of it from his countless features, definitely.

Is the new remix going to be a hit? C'mon he is D'Banj! Looking for 'wizardry' creativity in a D'Banj's verse or record (now) is being an elf. D'Banj is energy and good humour as long as he brings that to a song it would grow on us (until we find it cliche).

Kanye West insist that D'Banj & Don Jazzy reconcile

DB Records owner and pop artiste D'Banj is desperately trying to reconcile with his former Mo' Hits partner Don Jazzy. In a bid to get his former maverick producer back, D'Banj asked Kanye West to talk to Don Jazzy. A few months ago the rap superstar called Don Jazzy to try and get the two Mo' Hits owners to forget the past and work again. Our source who is close to both D'Banj and Don Jazzy confirms this to be true and says that D'Banj's attempts to get Don Jazzy back has been going on for a sometime.

Our news story also coincides with the Kanye West, Don Jazzy and D'Banj story in today's edition of City People. According to the magazine, "Kanye West, believed to be at the center of the controversy that led to their fight is making efforts to reconcile them...Kanye West was not aware of the fight between D'Banj and Don Jazzy until 3 months ago and has been trying to get them together."

The City People story goes on to say that "while he was in the studio with D'Banj some weeks back working on the remix of "Scapegoat" he brought the topic up again and asked D'banj why Don Jazzy was not in the US with him working on the song. D'Banj was said to have told him that they are still friends but work on different platforms now. Kanye was said not to be happy about the fact that his name was in the internet as one of the reasons the duo fell apart. He insists they get back together if he has to keep working with D'banj. He prompted D'Banj to once again try and make up with Don Jazzy.

"Recently D'Banj invited Kanye West to come to Nigeria for the video shoot of "Scape Goat" remix he did with Kanye. Kanye accepted but gave a strict condition that he will come only after he must have reconciled with Don Jazzy who must also be in the video."

According to the City People story, after several attempts by D'Banj, Don Jazzy agreed to appear in the video on a condition that he gets paid for his appearance. - Popoffcentral.

Promoters of the EME North American tour, Royal entertainment, have issued a statement on their company Facebook page last night apologizing publicly to Banky W and the EME crew. They stated that Banky W and the EME crew should not be held responsible for the cancellation of the shows as reasons for canceling are genuine and unavoidable.

We have come to find out that this information was 100% false. As you can imagine, my partners and I felt betrayed and went on a public tirade against EME, and Banky W. Sparks flew, tempers raged, and certain statements were issued, on twitter and in the Nigerian Entertainment blogosphere, due to the intensity of the situation at hand"

Chairman and Creative Director of EME, Banky W posted on his official twitter handle on Tuesday, August 14, 2012 an apology note to fans on the cancellation of the Canada and California shows and promised that EME will make the remaining EME concerts memorable for their fans.

"The information presented to me was 100% false. Allegations were made about Banky's character, and while we may have believed them at the time, those allegations have proven themselves to be completely untrue. To his credit, Mr Wellington and EME acted with dignity through the whole ordeal, and Royal Entertainment would like to publicly apologize for the way we handled the situation. Royal Entertainment would furthermore like to publicly retract what we, or any of our affiliates, have said negatively about Banky W and EME."

Royal Entertainment also stated in the press statement that they were fully informed about the cancellation and both parties agreed to release a public statement apologizing to fans on the issue but instead, Royal Entertainment and its partners took over social and online media making false allegations against Banky W and the EME crew.

"Further research has brought many things to light, and it's time to make the situation clear. It is in the interest of everyone to put all of this behind us." Eche says.

Eche-Enzina Emole concludes "on behalf of Royal Entertainment, EME, Alore Media and all parties involved, Royal Entertainment would like to apologize to the fans, and furthermore promise that we will make every effort to ensure something like this will not happen again."

Royal Entertainment also made clear that there were no booking fees or deposit of any sort paid to EME for the California show and EME has also agreed to refund to Royal Entertainment the money Royal Entertainment spent on promoting the show. Fans who bought tickets in advance will also get a full refund through the various channels of purchase. When asked about his reaction to Royal Entertainment's public retraction and apology, Banky W said "We have accepted the apology. It's time to move on."

Charly Boy's wife; Lady Di came out to defend her husband, saying that all the stories about his sexuality and Illuminati involvement, are all made up.

"This is not the first time it's happening.
